All About Mrs. Chang
This is Mrs. Chang's 12th year at Peruvian Park Elementary and 11th year teaching 1st grade.  She earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Utah, and a M.S. in Instructional Technology from Utah State University. She has an endorsement in Elementary Math. Mrs. Chang comes from a family of 4, and was raised in Salt Lake City. She and her husband have a toddler who keeps them on their toes! They love to travel to new places as a family and experience different cultures. Mrs. Chang has visited 17 countries and plans to visit more! Some of her favorite things are: chocolate, snow, receiving letters and packages in the mail, sudoku puzzles and the Sunday comics. Some of her hobbies are: knitting, baking, skiing in the winter, traveling in the summer, and of course, READING! A few of her favorite children's books include: Jessica (by Kevin Henkes), Hooray for Diffendoofer Day (by Dr. Seuss), Le Petit Prince / The Little Prince (by Antoine De Saint-Exupery), The Jolly Postman (by Allan & Janet Ahlberg), and the Chronicles of Narnia series (by C.S. Lewis). She can't wait to share her love of reading with her students each year!

All About Mrs. Wahlquist

This is Mrs. Wahlquist's 2nd year teaching at Peruvian Park and she is very excited to be here! Mrs. Wahlquist has lived around Salt Lake City her whole life. She graduated from Skyline High School, then went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah. She taught school for 3 years in Davis District and earned an ESL endorsement before staying home to be a mom. Mrs. Wahlquist has 3 amazing kids - a son in middle school and 2 daughters here at Peruvian Park! Before returning to the classroom, she enjoyed 6 years as a parent volunteer and PTA member at Peruvian. Mrs. Wahlquist loves listening to music, and also playing the piano and singing. She loves going on fun vacations with her family - her favorite trips have been to Oregon/Washington and California. She loves watching movies, playing card games, and eating ice cream! She also loves reading books with her children.
